Studio am_r (pronounced /a.mɛʁ/) is a Berlin based fashion brand founded in 2026 by french designer Alexandre Marguet.
The Designer
Graduate of ESMOD France in 2016, Alexandre developed an early multidisciplinary approach through experiences in sales, styling, fashion production, photography and art direction.
He refined his skills in pattern making and grading at Véronique Leroy’s atelier in Paris, before joining Berlin-based brand Sample-cm, where he discovered the inner workings of a fashion brand, from design and handmade production to image and marketing. He later learned the ropes of online retail, sales and production through experience with global online stores.
The Work
Studio am_r’s work is focused around bodies. Each piece is conceived through 3D modeling and precise pattern making, developed directly on the body to explore movement, tension and comfort.
Garments are designed to be worn, lived in and felt, balancing visual impact with everyday functionality. The studio values thoughtful construction, quality materials and a close relationship between concept and execution, as well as self expression through colorful or minimalistic options.
The Inspirations
The brand’s universe draws from contrasting yet connected worlds. The sunny beaches of the South of France where he grew up and the raw energy of Berlin’s nightlife and queer scenes where he evolves now for the last 10 years.
These influences meet to shape a visual language that is minimal and graphic yet risqué and unapologetically expressive.
The Studio
Studio am_r is Alexandre’s personal creative space as a place where his experiences converge into an evolving creative project.
The studio follows a slow rhythm, releasing progressively one collection throughout the year. Each piece is designed to stand on its own while contributing to a cohesive narrative.
Rooted in Berlin’s local creative community, the studio regularly develops custom pieces for performers, artists and the drag scene, extending its work beyond everyday wear into performance and self-expression. See commissions.
